Marriages & Partnerships
Your guide to getting married or forming a civil partnership in Somerset & North Somerset.
Forms & Guidance Downloads
We need your planning forms back around 1 month before the big day so we can get to work personalising your ceremony. We often refer to these forms as “pre ceremony check forms” or “PCCs” for short. These forms detail the vow choices you would like to include – both your choice of the legal vows and also your own personal ring vows. You can include details of the readings you would like and the music choices for walking down the aisle and signing the schedule. We also need to know how you would like to enter – walked down the aisle by a family member, together with your partner, or something completely different. You can find the answer to lots of FAQs on the Your Ceremony page, but there are also downloadable guidance packs to help you. These contain the vows you need to choose from – perfect if you want to have a practice in advance! We also have a downloadable version of our Ceremony Guide magazine, which you have may already come across at wedding fairs or through your venue.
All forms are downloadable as Microsoft Words documents. You may need to use a computer rather than a phone for the best results if you are filling it in electronically, depending on your device. Save a copy then email it back to us at email@example.com. The email address is also included at the bottom of the form. You can also print it out and complete it by hand if you prefer and then scan a copy to email back or post it to our Taunton office.
Basic 2+2 Ceremonies
This is the simple ceremony with no whistles and bells for you and your two witnesses only at one of our Registration offices, normally held on weekdays in a small office.
Full Marriage Ceremony at a Register Office or Approved Venue
Use this form if you have booked a full ceremony at an Approved Venue or are having a full ceremony with guests at Taunton in the Vivary Room or Tudor Hall, Abbey Manor in Yeovil, Frome Town Hall or Weston-super-Mare register office in the Hutton Suite or Old Council Chamber.
Use this form if you have booked any civil partnership – a simple signing, the basic 2+2 or with a full ceremony at any venue. The options are a little different from the marriage forms, as you also have the option to not speak you vows out loud.
Ceremony Guide Magazine
You can view our Ceremony Guide online as an e-magazine. It works alongside our website to guide you through planning your big day, and is full of useful information and inspiration, featured venues and great local suppliers. Photographers, florists, vintage car hire, hair and beauty professionals, legal advice, cake makers, jewellers, caterers and musicians – find a selection here and or the full list in our Venue Directory and Supplier Directory.
Look out for paper copies at wedding venues, wedding fayres, tourist information centres and registration offices.
