Continuing the tour of our Somerset wedding venue compass markers, we are heading north to an absolute architectural gem. Leigh Court is a grade II Georgian country house in Abbots Leigh in North Somerset, just outside Bristol. Over the centuries, the grounds have been home to a Medieval monastery and an Elizabethan mansion, and the current Regency house was built in 1814. From the moment you see the grand Bath stone portico columns, you know this venue is something truly special.
Slip on your Barbour jacket, jump in my old MG
We’re off to the depths of Somerset to see what we can see see see
We don’t want to drink the cider, we don’t want to walk for miles
We just want to go to a stately home built in the Georgian styleCrunch up the gravel driveway, gasp at the grand facade
Just for today we’re lords and ladies, oh what a gay charade!

If you want a more intimate event or space for your guests to spread out, the Tapestry Room can hold around 50 people. With its decorated ceiling and lavish gold accents, it may be smaller but definitely has the wow factor. For something a little cosier, or a vintage afternoon tea themed reception, head to the rosy pink and white Morning Room. How about canapes in the sunny yellow Salon, or after-dinner drinks by the fireplace in the Lounge?
